Somatic Experiencing Ireland

ISE was established in 2013, as a voluntary, not-for-profit organization and a company limited by guarantee, known as a Community Interest Company (CIC). CIC’s were established by the Companies (Audit, Investigations and Community Enterprise) Act 2004, and are regulated by The Office of the Regulator of Community Interest Companies in England.

The traumatic history of Ireland, throughout the generations, has a profound impact on how we live today. The resilient process of peace building requires energy, interest and curiosity in the present and hope for the future. ISE maintains that because the SE approach through its focus on the integration of terrible events, releases energy for engaging with life as it is being lived.

The purpose of Ireland SE is to:
enable SE trauma support to be available and accessible through-out Ireland

provide accessible training in Ireland where previously it was necessary to travel abroad for the training.

add to and influence – through clinical practice, information and research – how the impact of traumatic experiences is discussed in Ireland.
