Ursula Funke-Kaiser studied law and worked as a judge before she underwent extensive training in body and breath therapy, art therapy and followed her interest in Jungian psychotherapy. After she met Dr.Peter Levine in the nineties her professional life focused on trauma therapy with somatic experiencing. She has worked with Dr.Levine in trainings in Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Israel and Gaza and since 2006 she is member of the SE Faculty. Ursula teaches classes on all levels in Germany, Poland, Denmark and Norway. She was a founding member of the Board of the German Association of Somatic Experiencing and her special interest lies in bringing SE forward in the health care system. For 20 years she was chairwoman of a non-profit association, which ran a hospital for psychotherapy, a family counselling center and a unit for psychotherapy research. Besides those activities she has undergone the Nondual Teacher Training with Peter Fenner, and is practising yoga and meditation. And last but not least she is mother of three grown up children and happy grandmother.
