More Information
Tairseach means ‘threshold’ in the Irish language. It refers to an entrance, an edge, a boundary. Although it is a noun, tairseach subtly implies movement, signifying a connection between two things - it is the space between spaces - a liminal space. It implies the place of unfolding, a quantum of space. In Irish, when a person comes over the tairseach, towards another, they are greeted with the welcome, ‘Sé do bheatha’ (“it is your life”).
Tairseach is the Association of Somatic Experiencing® Practitioners in Ireland. It is a member-led association established in October 2017 to support the continuing professional development of SE practitioners in Ireland. It also includes those in the process of completing their SE® training.
Tairseach provides a community for all those practitioners who use Somatic Experiencing® in their work. It also offers the public a view of this approach. It enables those who are interested to make contact with SE® practitioners for information or therapeutic support. Tairseach is recognised by EASE, the European Association for Somatic Experiencing® as the national association for SE practitioners in Ireland.
It is closely linked to Ireland Somatic Experiencing®(ISE) established in 2012 and which is a member of EASE and recognised as the training organisation for SE® in Ireland.
